Second chance in life

Li Daimo  (李代沫), also known as Demon Li rose to fame on the first season of The Voice of China (中国好声音). Despite not wining the competition, he was signed by Bravo Entertainment and subsequently release two albums. This is a remarkable achievement given all that he has gone through. He said he battled with weight issues since young and when he attained some success in show business, images of him in various compromising positions flooded the internet. Despite this, his popularity grew from strength to strength.

However, his singing career has come to a halt in April 2014 after being found guilty of drug consumption and allowing people to take drugs at his temporary home on several occasions since February. Consequently he was sentenced to nine months behind bars and fined 2,000 yuan. This is essentially a death sentence to his show business career.

It’s hard to fathom why Daimo would resort to drugs and single-handedly destroy the valuable lifeline that was given to him. So often in life we ask for a second chance but how many of us truly appreciate the opportunities given to us?
